And many have probably already
been said:
-Spare Tire/Jack/Tools/Tool kit, Trunk lining
-Any "crap" you keep in the car (make sure glove box is empty
-smaller battery (although this could affect your elec. components
-rear seats
-stereo, or at least rear speakers.... just use the fronts :o)
-drive around with as little gas in the car as possible (and people too....:o)
Then, depending on what you want out of your car (whehter you want creature
comforts still:
-Eurodash lightened my 97' 540 b/c of the metal piece DaveZ cut to fit the dash
-Yes, deleting AC will reduce weight
-Yes, a carbon fiber (or fiberglass) hood/fenders/trunk will reduce a lot of
weight, but will cost A LOT... until a mold is made...
-carbon fiber mirros also...if they were made (or get manual ones and delete
the motors/heating elements
-Lexan Windows: (rear only would allow the fronts to still roll down)this gets
rid of the glass + regulators and crap
-Slim Line Race Fan(s)
-Alluminum Radiator
-New Exhaust System w/ less weight (ie smaller/deleted mufflers/resonators
-Aluminum/Plastic Fuel Cell (can get any sizes from 1-gallon to like a 15
gallon fuel cell
-Race Seats (removing the motors/heating elements will remove significant
weigt. Or.... Get '97 sport seats which are manual
(like in my car)
-Lightweight wheels/tires.... greatly improves acceleration
-Lexan the sunroof... remove regulator and moon roof
-
And of course remove any small items you think you don't need:
Valve covers, emblems, front passenger seat, door trim, glove box,
cupholders...ha ha, change holder, sun visors, ugdo rears shades, door panels
etc...
Completely gutted and with some carbon fiber I bet the car could reach a weight
of 3100-3200 pounds, not bad with stock hp, or with Yours
